If a child is unable to read properly at this stage the consequences can be lifelong as they can face difficulties accessing secondary education fully. Schoolreaders helps to address this by recruiting volunteers to listen to children read in primary schools.
The volunteers are matched to an appropriate local school. The scheme has proved extremely successful, showing the extent of the need for this service, which is free to schools.
As the number of volunteers and schools participating increased, Schoolreaders asked Issimo to implement a Salesforce solution to match their requirements.
Volunteers and schools now apply online to the scheme through the Schoolreader’s website with the information being sent directly into Salesforce. Volunteers go through an assessment process and are then matched to local schools on a geographical and availability basis.
